As a dedicated learning facility the Kingbridge Conference Centre & Institute encourages clients to embrace change, prepare for the future and to lead by example. By changing our lifestyle choices we can reduce our impact on the environment, which may help to ensure our children’s future. That is why Kingbridge has taken a leadership role in implementing immediate and quantifiable initiatives to reduce our ecological footprint.

The primary focus of our positive environmental action plan is to increase our recycling efforts and reduce energy and resource consumption. Although Kingbridge has already taken many steps towards environmental sustainability, it is a dynamic process and we will remain diligent in adjusting to meet the needs of both our clients and the environment.

Providing fresh local grown food options is a collaborative effort that Kingbridge has created with the surrounding community. Purchasing locally has allowed us to reduce our carbon footprint while supporting our local farmers and providing fresh and delicious products to our guests.

In our continued effort to reduce, reuse and recycle we have recently purchased eco-friendly ergonomic conference chairs. These chairs are manufactured here in Canada and composed of 100% recycled steel and plastic. The conference industry is a large consumer of non-renewable resources. By purchasing recyclable alternatives like these chairs Kingbridge is making an effort to do their part to foster a culture for change and sustainability.

With the recent installation of the new energy efficient RBC (Rotary Bacterial Component) sewage water filtration
system, Kingbridge not only meets but exceeds the Ministry of the Environment standard of 10ppm waste discharge. Reducing the amount of waste and harmful carbon emissions that enter the environment is a significant way Kingbridge is demonstrating environmental stewardship.
